Job Description

The Training Coordinator will apply knowledge in their field to ensure team member training needs are identified, organized, and tracked. Responsibilities will include administering and conducting training programs for administrative, supervisory, technical, and production team members. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting job task and training needs analyses, as well as measuring training effectiveness. The Training Coordinator will develop and administer apprenticeships, internships, and co-op educational opportunities to ensure a continuous pipeline of qualified technical candidates.





  1. Perform job task analysis and training needs analysis to identify and plan training initiatives;

  2. Research, plan, organize and conduct training programs, seminars, and conferences for team members;

  3. Develop partnerships with external training vendors to assist in planning, development, and conducting of training programs which are unable to be facilitated through onsite resources;

  4.  Write material for new training programs; review, evaluate, and modify existing and proposed programs; recommend appropriate changes;

  5. Assist with preparation and administration of various training programs;

  6. Partner with internal customers (Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, etc.) to determine on-going advanced technical training needs;

  7.  Administer and evaluate training program qualification assessments, and determine prospective attendee eligibility;

  8. Prepare and distribute training aids such as instructional material, handouts, evaluations forms, visual aids, etc.;

  9. Contact attendees and supervision/management regarding training program schedules;

  10. Schedule appropriate training resources and prepare physical set-up as required;

  11. Develop, update, revise, and perform new team member orientation/induction;

  12.  Measure training effectiveness and ROI;

  13. Prepare charts, graphs, and reports to communicate training related metrics;

  14. Ensure compliance with related legislation and regulations regarding training, preemployment assessment testing, etc.;

  15. Prepare reports regarding planned training, number of attendees, hours scheduled, internal/external resources, etc.;

  16. Partner with operations, safety, quality, and engineering during launch or engineering changes (process, equipment, layout, etc.) to facilitate team member training regarding new requirements, processes, and/or procedures;

  17. Adhere to Quality, Safety, and Environmental standards, policies, and procedures; ensuring compliance by team members, vendors, and contractors;

  18. Participate in the creation and support of systems, documentation, and actions to ensure conformance to Quality (IATF, TS) and Environmental (ISO) management systems;

  19. Actively participate in Layered Process Audits;

  20. Understand and maintain compliance with all OSHA/MIOSHA safety and PPE requirements;

  21. Understand and maintain compliance with all ISO and Environmental policies and requirements;

  22. Participate in and cooperate with internal and external certification audits, and customer audits, responding to requests for information and answering questions;

  23. Perform additional tasks as deemed necessary and appropriate.



Job Requirements

















EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



 


Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Organizational Development or other relevant field; or combination of job related work experience and


education/certification(s);



Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in a manufacturing environment;



Minimum of two (2) years of experience developing and administering employee training and development initiatives.


 


 


 


 



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES



 


1.     Technical writing and proofreading;


2.     Excellent ability to initiate, analyze and resolve;


3.     Experience developing and performing training programs;


4.     Ability to perform duties with minimal direction;


5.     Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead training programs and develop positive working relationships with internal and external customers utilizing verbal and written tools;


6.     Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Powerpoint)


7.     Desire to work in a team-based, lean-manufacturing environment;


8.     Willingness to travel for training, and as other business needs may dictate.
