Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for meeting customer and in-plant quality specifications with support of quality manager and quality technicians.  Work with suppliers to establish S.P.C programs, and monitor their compliance with the program.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Achievement of plant Quality goals and objectives including Cost of Quality, PPM, IPPM, Scrap, Customer service goals, Continuous Improvement, etc.
  2. Assists in the development of standardized work processes, process improvements, work instructions, training on processes, and supervises daily quality operations.
  3. Monitors and reports daily quality activities with regards to SPC and non-conformances.
  4. Identifies, develops, and implements strategies to attain quality targets with respect to production demands.
  5. Leads daily quality meetings to communicate quality goals and provide feedback on overall team performance.
  6. Provides overall employee/team development strategies through training, coaching, counseling, and performance measurement.
  7. Sets and enforces standards for determining non-conforming materials and scrap review.
  8. Management of Layered Process Audits.
  9. Assists in the implementation of ISO and TS initiatives.
  10. Any tasks deemed necessary by management.

MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK AN OFF SHIFT

Job Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelor’s degree (Technical or Business degree preferred).
  2. A minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience.
  3. Knowledge of AIAG Core Tools.
  4. Supervisory experience for an Automotive supplier as well as significant experience in leading TS-16949 certification preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  1. Follow standardized work instructions.
  2. Follow safety procedures.
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  4. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills.
  5. Self-directed and team oriented with demonstrated use of planning and problem solving skills
  6. Apply company policies, procedures and guidelines.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

  1. Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear.
  3. Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and 25 pounds overhead.
  4. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
  5. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  Good hearing is required.
  6. Good dexterity with hands and good hand-eye coordination.
  7. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  8. The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand.
  9. The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
  10. Handle the stress of a fast-paced environment.
  11. Able to work overtime as needed and travel as required .
  12. Work a flexible schedule and extended hours on occasions.
