JOB SUMMARY




Support the Quality Manager in all duties including the leadership of all salary and hourly quality members as well as the quality processes for the location and customers issues.




DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES




1.  Represent the quality function on technical support, in conjunction with other internal support groups, regarding issues affecting manufacturing.


2.  Helps initiate and approve supplier/customer production/process control activities and reviews for implementation and effectiveness.


3.  Provides guidance for quality control sampling system, procedures, APQP, PPAP and IMDS activities.


4.  Assist in managing, auditing and continuously improving TS16949 systems and procedures.


5.  Direct Customer and Supplier liaisons for plant quality activities and concerns including scheduled visits.


6.  Help establish and maintain all quality documents, samples, customer contact, supplier development, production start - up, product launch, and correction of production variances and warrant analysis.


7.  Assists in setting standards for determining non-conforming materials and scrap review.


8.  Follows-up and responds to customer concerns with regards to quality.


9.  Plans and coordinates PPAP documentation and submissions.


10.  Assists with PFMEAs and APQP activities.


11.  Assists in the development of standardized work processes and process improvements.


12.  Assists in the implementation of ISO and TS initiatives.


13.  Participation in the Layered Process Audit schedule.


14.  Participation in the Internal ISO/TS 16949 Audit schedule (applies only to certified ISO/TS 16949 internal auditors).


15.  Participation and cooperation in answering questions and providing information for internal and external audits regarding or related to ISO/TS 16949, VDA 6.3, and customer standards.


16.  Other activities as related to the scope of the position.


 



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



1.  BS: Engineering, Industrial Technology, or other technical discipline plus 4 years quality experience in a stamping/robotic assembly environment;


2.  OR, AS: Engineering Technology plus 6 years experience in a stamping/robotic assembly environment;


3.  OR, 8+ years experience and training in a similar role and environment.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES



Strong knowledge of GD&T and SPC;


1.  Knowledge of quality tools/techniques (APQP, PPAP, ISO/TS, Problem Solving);


2.  Ability to work in a team-based lean manufacturing environment.



PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION



Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus


1.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear
