Job Description

         JOB SUMMARY

•        Quality Engineer is responsible to the Quality Manager for performing tasks/analysis to support automotive product requirements.

•        Comply with all Customer and company health, safety & environmental policies and procedures.

•        Aggressively search for alternative solutions when the desired solution does not work.

•        Provide IMS expertise to the organization for the development of Associates, products, and business processes such that future business needs will be met.

•        Expand the IMS education and training of the organization’s Associates at all levels to ensure consistency with process requirements.

•        Play an integral role in a cross-functional team environment to achieve quality goals by facilitating problem solving processes and improvement sessions with Process Owners.


  • Engage with Customer and Supplier APQP/PPAP processes.

  • Employ AIAG system documentation, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Failure

  • Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control Plan, and subsequently create the associated

  • Inspection Plans.

  • Interface with Customers to address quality concerns and assure quality products and services are performed.

  • Develop, maintain and interpret variable and attribute SPC charts and create diagrams (ex. cause and effect, scatter, process flow, pareto).

  • Evaluate Cp, Cpk, Pp, and Ppk, process capability.

  • Use and interpret geometric dimensioning & tolerance (GD&T) for inspection process.

  • Evaluate & interpret repeatability and reproducibility (Gage R&R) studies.

  • Serve as a Quality Department representative for the Material Review Board (MRB).

  • Create & establish acceptance criteria & visual standards.

  • Serve as Champion for addressing Internal / External complaints.

  • Conduct comprehensive root cause analysis, facilitate resolutions and conduct followup activities to ensure corrective actions are suitable, adequate, efficient and effective.

  • Initiate, control and track quality alerts, corrective action requests and 8D’s.

  • Provide technical assistance and training on test equipment, and measuring devices.

  • Contribute to continually improve the effectiveness and efficiency (costs) of the organization.

  • Participate in activities to achieve Integrated Management System (IMS) process performance indicator objectives.

  • Assure subsequent flow-down of Customer requirements are communicated to Suppliers.

  • Conduct Supplier surveillance for quality performance and issue corrective action requests to ensure technical issues are identified and resolved.

  • Perform Supplier Quality audits.

Job Requirements


•     Bachelor’s Degree preferred


•     Minimum (5) years experience in Manufacturing, Automotive industry is required

•     Class A, Stamping Experience preferred

•     Product Launch experience preferred

•     Integrated Quality Management Systems experience preferred

•     CQE certification preferred
