Job Description

Role and Responsibilities: Press Scheduler will be responsible for forward planning, creating, maintaining and adjusting a daily off-shift schedule for the press department.  

Primary tasks:

1.   Understand and comply with all OSHA, safety, and PPE requirements.

2.   Updating Press schedule and inventory nightly.

3.   Will be responsible for communicating with the press teams any schedule changes.

4.   Will be responsible for updating the press schedule and communicating to the master scheduler any changes that have been done.

5.   Will be responsible for working closely with the tool room to evaluate that upcoming dies are ready in time per the master schedule.

6.   Will be responsible for following up with the off shift press teams if any new engineering level parts will be running. This includes making sure the correct engineering level labels are set up in SAP and are being used during the run.

7.   Reconcile the production runs to insure the correct amount of labels were produced in SAP.

8.   Will be responsible to evaluate to insure blanks have been received for upcoming production runs. This may include communicating with the supplier on the blank status.

9.   Will be responsible with communicating with the press teams partial lifts that need to be put up and used for each run.

10.   Will be responsible for following up to insure that the press team is following the process when labeling blanks when they are put on hold.

11.   Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

     BS in Operations Management, Logistics, or other similar type of business curriculum.-or- 3 plus years’ experience in a scheduling/press/inventory control role in a manufacturing environment;

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


1.      Exceptional computer skills, particularly with Excel and Production and Inventory Control Systems;

2.      Familiarization with MRP and scheduling concepts preferably SAP;

           3.    Expert knowledge of Press Operations
