Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Initiates, implements, analyze, reports, and oversee all health, safety, and environment programs for the company.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


• Directs implementation of company safety programs, to include developing safety methods, procedures and policies based on company guidelines.  


• Monitors compliance programs and company metrics analysis and improvement system;


• Monitors facility and processes for adherence to OSHA guidelines;


• Identifies and evaluates environmental hazards, recommends corrective action as necessary;


• Performs job analysis and measures and evaluates effectiveness of safety policies, makes needed modifications;


• Leads the emergency response team (ERT) and safety committee;


• Performs safety and/or environmental training;


• Supervises worker’s compensation recordkeeping and responds to employee accidents with treatment, follow up, and internal reporting;


• Initiates action to prevent accidents from both machinery and behavior;


• Initiates, performs, and oversees all aspects of safety and environmental training and documentation;


• Performs other assigned duties as necessary.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• BS degree in safety, engineering, or related field or combination of job related work experience and education/certifications; 


• 2-5 years experience in health and safety in a manufacturing environment;


• Experienced with safety program and Lean safety metrics is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• High energy, great communication/people skills;


• Computer skills are a must.


• Knowledge of ISO-14001 compliance, OSHA standards, manufacturing safety requirements and spill response.
