JOB SUMMARY




Scheduler will be responsible for forward planning, creating, maintaining and adjusting a daily shift schedule for the press department and welding assembly area.




DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES




1.  Creating, priming and releasing schedules for Repetitive Production based on recommendations from the SAP system. Updating schedules to the Paperless System when needed to allow production reporting line side as tags are printed;

2.  Conveying schedules to the Production supervisors in each area at start of shift;

3.  Communicating with team leaders and adjusting schedules as required during shift based on changing conditions;

4.  Evaluating tooling readiness information as received to adjust schedule;

5.  Evaluating and planning schedules for bank build situations as required for Engineering changes;

6.  Communicating Engineering Change Schedule information to Production, Engineering & Quality as required;

7.  Reconciling scheduled production quantities to inventory reports. Detecting and correcting errors in reported quantities;

8.  Updating system part/line data as needed for new items to maintain system functionality.

 




EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE




1.  BS in Operations Management, Logistics, or other similar type of business curriculum.-or- 3 plus years experience in a scheduling/inventory control role in a manufacturing environment;

2.  Minimum years of hands-on experience;

3.  Minimum years of related experience or specific experience (i.e. manufacturing environment)

4.  Description of types of experience required to be successful in position (i.e., prior management or supervisory experience);

5.  Involvement in process and procedure and what level of proficiency;

6.  Exposure to specific systems and/or equipment.

 




KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES




1.  Exceptional computer skills, particular with Excel and Production and Inventory Control Systems;

2.  Familiarization with MRP and scheduling concepts preferably SAP;

3.  Experience in a steel resale environment

4.  Experience in supervising other employees

 




PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION




1.  Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

2.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear

3.  Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds

4.  While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time

5.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

6.  The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences

7.  The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand

8.  The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
