Edscha manufactures body components, powered systems, and driver controls for automakers and motor vehicle manufacturers in North America and internationally. Its body components include hinge systems, door hinges, door hinges with integrated door checks, lid and flap hinges, door checks, and sliding door systems; powered systems include rear lids and lift gates; and driver controls include handbrakes, foot-operated parking brakes, and foot controls. The company was founded in 1870 and is based in Remscheid, Germany. It has locations in Remscheid, Germany; San Luis Potosi, Mexico; and Auburn Hills, MI.

The manufacturing engineer manager would oversee aintenance, Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Plant Layout, and Injection Molding. This candidate will plan and establish engineering schedules and follow up on the department performance against estimates; supervisess assembly of cost control and statistical data; approve process specification and design standards; and prepares and controls departmental annual budget.

The ME manager directly supervises engineers, carries out supervisory, coaching and audit responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering discipline; Masters’ of Science or MBA preferred.

  • Ten years Manufacturing Engineering Management experience in automotive manufacturing assembly operations highly preferred. Tier 1 automotive experience essential;

  • Manufacturing Engineering management experience in injection molding, stamping, sheet metal, tool and die, robotic welding highly preferred;

  • Significant program launch and quoting experience;

  • Steady career progression at a leading manufacturing company demonstrating stable job history;

  • Experience in other manufacturing disciplines preferred (ie. MFG operations, Materials, Quality, OEM experience (both domestic and transplants);

  • Maintenance management experience in an automated environment;

  • Significant exposure to Lean Manufacturing techniques.
