Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for executing the daily operations of the Materials Department.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1.      Monitors production entry, receipts, scrap entry, and other inventory-related data on the computer to accurately maintain inventory levels of production material;

2.      Confers with other departments to coordinate flow of materials and resolve errors;

3.      Monitors the scheduling of incoming production material to ensure adequate inventory levels;

4.      Analyzes cycle count adjustments to ensure accurate inventory accountability and make recommendations to the Materials Manager;

5.      Expedites incoming material as required;

6.      Publishes and reviews weekly release data (production schedules) to include Demand Management and MRP – SAP;

7.      Supervises Purchasing/Materials/Cycle Count personnel;

8.      Writes procedures as directed for ERP inventory and cycle counting, etc. 

9.    Assists in training as required;

10.   Performs special projects and other duties as assigned. This is a first shift position.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

1.      BS in Business related field or its equivalent ;

2.      Minimum of 5 years’ experience in inventory control and production scheduling;

3.      Prior management experience required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

1.      Familiarization with MRP and scheduling concepts preferably SAP;

2.      Exceptional communication (verbal/written) time movement and computer skills, particular with Excel and Production and Inventory Control Systems;

3.      Intense sense of urgency to adhere to project timelines;

4.      Involvement in ERP implementation and/or migration preferred.

1.      Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

2.      While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear

3.      Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds

4.      While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time

5.      The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

6.      The ability to listen to  and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences

7.      The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand

8.    The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
