Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Manage and direct all logistics staff. Perform and record dictated incoming inspections on all incoming materials and distribute goods to ordering department or move to appropriate storage locations using FIFO storage method.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ability to safely drive a forklift to unload and load trucks / move product from one location to another.


2. Ability to set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company’s plans and vision.


3. Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks


4. Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all equipment and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.


5. Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action


6. Maintain timekeeping and personnel records


7. Prepare performance and KPI reports


8. Ability to interview, Hire and train new employees


9. Good computer skills in order to learn various activities in Penta:


i. Create bills of ladings for customer shipments


ii. Send ASN’s for shipments made.


iii. Check inventory accuracy


iv. Learn JIT shipping activities


10. Excellent daily attendance required.


11. Previous supervisory experience preferred and in a shipping/receiving department a plus.


12. Capable of accurate cycle counting.


13. Ability to learn all shipping processes to ensure timely, accurate shipments to customer


14. Must be able to effectively communicate both with internal manufacturing departments and with external customer regarding parts needed for shipment.


15. Must be able to drive company-leased straight truck to deliver critically needed parts to customer.


16. Basic math skills required.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1.  High School Diploma or GED equivalent required


2.  Supervision, Coaching, Managing Processes, Process Improvement, Tracking Budget Expenses, Production Planning, , Strategic Planning, Dealing with Complexity, Financial Planning and Strategy, Automotive Manufacturing experience preferred


3.  Current forklift certification for GSC or a minimum of 1 year forklift experience.


4.  Computer experience using Micro-Soft Office products
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
 Experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment


 Self-Motivated


 Able to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills:


 Minimum of 2 years in shipping/receiving in a manufacturing environment preferred


 Automotive experience preferred


 Excellent communication skills
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION


1. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth


perception, and the ability to adjust focus


2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to


handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear


3. Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds


4. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time


5. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate


6. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences


7. The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand


8. The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
