Job Description

JOB SUMMARY




Management and support of IT systems in Gestamp R&D North America. Provide customer support for computer users under a Microsoft-based environment. Use discretion and independent judgment to address and solve technology related issues. Use knowledge and expertise to conduct independent research and coordinate efforts to solve issues by identifying Internal/External resources.




DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES




1.     Support network infrastructures (networking, LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi)


2.     Install and support IT systems (servers, workstations, printers, OS, management software, office suites, CAD/CAE software, backup/storage and Microsoft Active Directory)


3.     CAD/CAE and PLM software support (including installation and maintenance )



•         Siemens NX, CATIA V5, Ford/GM/Chrysler TeamCenter clients, as well as TeamCenter corporative client.



•         HyperWorks (HyperMesh, HyperView, Optistruct, DesignLife)



•         Ansa, MetaPost



•         Abaqus



•         Nastran


4.     Assist in converting/transferring CAD data from the OEMs eg. KVS for VW, TCe for Ford and GM, as well as from Syncplicity, Trubiquity and OpenDXM.


5.     Maintain FTP site/folders for data transfer to suppliers.


6.     Install macros for CAD applications. Development of macros would be a plus.


7.     CAD/CAE license management and monitoring.


8.     Execute daily processes according to policy (backups, reports, documentation, and daily routines)


9.     Work closely with corporative IT team to solve issues and improve system performance at assigned location.


10.  Maintain high standard of housekeeping throughout the work area.


11.  Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.


Job Requirements




 




EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE




1.  4 year college degree in a computer related field preferred


2.  Experience with MS platforms supporting Servers and MS Office applications. Linux will be appreciated.



  1. Experience in storage/backup systems(NetApp and VMWARE platforms) as well as with backup solutions

  2. Experience in networking (LAN/WAN/WIFI) and structural cabling.

  3. Knowledge of CAD/CAE and PLM environments




KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES





  1. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels

  2. Working familiarity with TCP/IP and networks

  3. Familiarity with mobile platforms, specifically iOS

  4. Hardware / Software setup & maintenance

  5. Network Printer Management

  6. Ability to work independently with little supervision

  7. Strong problem solving skills

  8. Spanish a plus

  9. Working knowledge of Linux

  10. Working knowledge of VoIP phones
