Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Human Resources Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the Human Resources function.  This includes being responsible for recruitment, employee development, salary and benefits administration, unemployment recreation and other areas for the plant employees.  Ensure plant is recognized in the community as one of the best places to work as defined by the employee opinion survey.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.     Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promotes a high level of employee morale;

2.     Protects interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations as well as collective bargaining agreement as applicable.

3.     Responsible to recruit, hire, and train associates to stay ahead of launch activities and new technology.

4.     Ensures professional development and feedback is provided to all management, staff and hourly associates.

5.     Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources function (e.g., MIOSHA, EEO, TEFRA, ERISA, FLSA).

6.     Directs the preparation of information requested or required for compliance.  Monitors exposure of the Plant and approves all information submitted to external agencies.

7.     Conducts a Continuing study of all Human Resources policies, programs, and practices to keep plant management informed of new developments;

8.     7.   Keeps plant manager informed of significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of objectives, and those which are not being addressed adequately at the line management level;

9.     Performs additional job duties deemed necessary or appropriate.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. 4-year degree or 8 plus years’ experience in related field.

2. Plant Automotive experience strongly preferred

3. 8-10 years of Human Resources experience

4. Experience promoting positive employee relations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1.     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

2.     Excellent organizational skills.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

1.     Good vision required.

2.     While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear

3.     Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds

4.     While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time

5.     The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

6.     The ability to listen to  and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences

7.     The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand

8.     The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
