Job Description

This position will support the South Carolina operation to provide accurate standard product costing, financial reporting and analysis, inventory integrity, and specialized cost studies. The cost accountant will interface with the operations team to establish key metrics tied to the budget to drive efficiency throughout the plant. 

1.     Develop annual operating budgets and subsequent updates.

2.     Establish standard product costs and maintain ongoing accuracy / integrity.

3.     Maintain product routings and bills of materials.

4.     Create, maintain, and deploy financial models and analytical tools.

5.     Evaluate new business quotation profitability to ensure returns meet corporate targets.

6.     Perform specialized cost studies and ad-hoc reporting.

7.     Evaluate capital appropriation requests to ensure acceptable returns on investment.

8.     Identify and research cost improvement opportunities.

9.     Review and analyze inventory to maintain accuracy.

10.  Maintain fixed assets to ensure proper depreciation schedules.

11.  Sales mix and product margin analysis.

12.  Monthly financial reporting and variance analysis.

13.  Assist with monthly closings and audits.

Perform all other directed responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements


1.     Bachelor’s degree with major in accounting or finance.

2.     5 years of process costing and analysis experience in a manufacturing environment.

3.     Product line and operation process knowledge.

4.   SAP business system and metal stamping experience is a plus.

6.     Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP).

7.   Technical skills: Strong MS Office skills; Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access
