Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Provides accounting expertise to departments in areas of budget, actuals, AP, AR and standard costs. Back up for AP, AR and payroll. Provide general accounting and operational reporting along with other projects/responsibilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Accounting

  1. Tracking and reconciliation of departmental budgets and actual costs through weekly and monthly reports;
  2. Creates capital equipment depreciation schedules and applies to monthly ledgers;
  3. Reviews/audits cost ledger transactions on a weekly and monthly basis;
  4. Assists with physical inventories and reconciliations;
  5. Work closely with Customers to timely resolve invoicing and collection issues:
  6. Track and explain status of all accounts receivable past dues;
  7. Reconciliation of all accounts including intercompany;
  8. Prepare monthly aging and sales reports;
  9. Work on various tasks/projects as requested.

10.  Monthly and yearly general ledger closing entries and related reconciliations.

11.  Development of part standard costs including overhead, labor and purchase parts.

AP / AR & Payroll Backup

  1. Accurately verify and invoice daily shipments to Customers;
  2. Daily monitoring and application of Customer accounts payments;
  3. Back up for payroll;
  4. Accurately process AP invoices for payment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field or 2 years job related experience for every year of college equivalency.
  2. Two years relevant cost accounting in a manufacturing environment;
  3. SAP experience a plus, but not required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. Exceptional skills with Excel and MS Office suite;
  2. Excellent interpersonal & organizational skills required;
  3. Strong problem-solving, and analytical skills;
  4. Able to manage priorities;
  5. Ability to work independently and also as a member of various teams.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

  1. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear
  3. Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
  4. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time
  5. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  6. The ability to listen to  and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
  7. The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand
  8. The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
